Get Well Wishes and Farewell to Razzle Dazzle

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using the bold, bright colors from this week’s CQC87  ColourQChallenge (isn't that owl the cutest?) and the Stamping411 SSC205 Sketch Challenge.  If you have a moment, check out both of these sites for their fabulous Design Team entries and all of the other inspiring cards and projects submitted:-)

I thought about using my owl punch, but since the colors remind me of the 60’s and 70’s, so I decided to use "Razzle Dazzle".

To create this card:

Use the new Doily Triple Layer Punch (in the 3rd setting) and punch out two doilies from Whisper White and glue onto Melon Mambo circles punched using the 1 ¾” Circle Punch.  Use the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF (can I say it is “hip to be square?” Sorry- it is getting late and these colors are bringing back too many memories…) – emboss the doilies and a piece of Pumpkin Pie (cut with the 3 ½” Circle Original Die).

Use SU! Markers in Soft Suede, Crushed Curry (retired), Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie to color the Razzle Dazzle image and stamp onto the Whisper White Circle (cut with the 3” Original Circle Die).  Cut the lower portion of the circle with the stamped image off and mount into the Pumpkin Pie Circle.

Punch the edge of a piece of Whisper White with the Eyelet Border Punch and crimp with the Crimper Tool.  Adhere a piece of Crushed Curry DSP onto Melon Mambo and attach the crimped border at the bottom.

Adhere the Pumpkin Pie circle and a piece of Soft Suede (scrap) over the image and crimped border.  Attach a strand of pearls in the center of the Soft Suede strip and mount the Melon Mambo doily circles with Dimensionals.

“Huff” on the Razzle Dazzle stamp to re-moisten the marker “ink” and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White, stamp the sentiment with Melon Mambo ink and punch out with the Decorative Label XL Punch.  Punch another piece of Melon Mambo with the Decorative Label XL Punch, cut in the center (trim away the points in the center) to mount behind the sentiment layer.  Attach the sentiment to the card with Dimensionals.

Lightly spray entire card front with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint spray (mixed with 70% alcohol) and attach the Pumpkin Pie 5/8” Stain Ribbon bow and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:   Razzle Dazzle, Curvy Verses
Ink:  Melon Mambo, SU! Markers- Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry (retired)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry DSP (retired)
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Original Dies- 3” and 3 ½” Circle, Crimper Tool, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Punches- Doily Triple Layer, 1 ¾” Circle and Decorative Label XL

Not sure if I would use these colors together again- I must say this was quite a challenge for me:-)  With the doilies, this card has a bit of a vintage feel to it- what do you think?
Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you are having a wonderful week!

What a nice BOLD color selection and fun card! It does resemble the 60s and 70s! (Unfortunately, I remember them! lol!)
