Happy Mother's Day Iris

Hi Friends!

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!  Today I am sharing a fairly easy Mother’s Day card using stamps, dies, and paper all from Stamp Simply

This card incorporates an embossing folder as well as heat embossing, a bit of lace and seam binding, pretty designer paper, a die cut oval and a few pearls!

My mother loved spring when the irises would start to bloom- lilacs and irises were her favorite!  Purple is one of my favorite colors so I decided to create this card in honor of her.

 To create this card:

Using the Brickwork 3D embossing folder, emboss a piece of white cardstock, die cut an oval in the upper right area, tear off the bottom edge and set aside.

De-static a piece of the purple woodgrain patterned paper from the Beach Hut 6x6 paper pad (approx. 4 ¼” x 5 ¼”), ink the “Wishing You A” sentiment from Happy Day Iris with Versafine Onyx Black ink (positioning it to fit within the oval die cut), apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the brickwork embossed layer to fit over the sentiment and mount onto the Beach Hut paper (do not adhere on the lower left hand side of the oval to allow room for the banner sentiment in the next step), trim and onto lilac cardstock.

De-static a piece of black cardstock, ink the “Mother’s Day” sentiment from Happy Day Iris with Versamark ink and stamp onto the prepared panel.

Apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die, insert into the oval die cut and add dimensional foam under the banner.

Layer the lace near the bottom of the card front, add the lilac seam binding, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Create a bow from the lilac seam binding, adhere the panel to a white card base.

Ink the iris image from Happy Day Iris with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the image with the coordinating die, color with water-based markers and adhere with dimensional foam to the card front.

Add a strip of the purple designer paper to the left hand side of the inside panel of the card base and finish off the card with a few pearls in the upper left hand corner of the card front.

God Bless the USA

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are enjoying your week!  Today I am sharing a very easy patriotic card using stamps, dies, and paper all from Stamp Simply

When I first received The Fourth of July paper pad, the flag design on this piece of the paper seemed to call out to me to create a simple card so the flag design would show.

To create this card:

Trim the flag patterned piece of designer paper from The Fourth of July 6x6 paper pad to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

De-static the paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Patriotic Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount the panel onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock before adhering to a white card base.

Add the strip of the remaining piece of the designer paper onto the left hand side of the inner part of the card ( I used the opposite side of the paper).

Die cut the three stars from silver mirror cardstock using the star dies from the Stars & Stripes dies, mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

If you have not had a chance to check out the rest of my Sister Design Team cards on the Stamp Simply blog, I hope you will do so- such gorgeous inspiration from all!!

Summer Roses

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick floral card created with stamps, dies, lace and paper all from Stamp Simply.

I decided to pair two stamp sets, Floral Clusters- Summer Roses and Worship & Praise along with the gorgeous Vivid Ink Drops 6x6 paper from Craft Consortium.

I just love the Ink Drops paper collections from Craft Consortium- they are all gorgeous and so dramatic :-) !

To create this card:

Trim the piece of Vivid Ink Drops designer paper to approx. to 3 ¾” x 5” and layer the piece of pink satin lace onto the panel.

Mount the layered background onto a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ¼” white cardstock, layer onto a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” black cardstock and mount onto a white card base.

Stamp the verse sentiment from the  Worship & Praise using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with the middle sized tag die (again, cutting a second tag from white cardstock to layer behind the sentiment),

Mount the tag sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp the floral image from Floral Cluster- Summer Roses using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with water-based markers before die cutting with the coordinating Floral Cluster die (I also die cut an additional floral shape from plain white cardstock to layer behind the colored image).

Mount the floral image onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card with pearls in the center of the flowers and a few along the lower right hand corner of the tag sentiment.

TCC206 You Are Loved Beyond Measure

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #206 {April Flowers} Challenge at the The Card Concept!

Look at that lovely bouquet!  I was inspired by the flower theme along with the aqua color to create a Clean and Layered card that could be used as an encouragement card (or for a friend at Mother’s Day).

I love the poppy image from the Pretty Poppies Bundle and paired it with a sentiment from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments stamp set along with a piece of Craft Consortium Beach Hut 6x6 paper and the Lace Embossing Folder (all from Stamp Simply).

We are looking forward to seeing what inspires your card from our inspiration photo! Will it be the overall theme, the flowers, vase, the colors, textures or something else?

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Such wonderful inspiration from the rest of my DT sisters!

To create this card:

On a piece of white cardstock, de-static with an embossing powder tool, ink the poppy image from the Pretty Poppies Bundle with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with water-based markers and once dried, die cut with the coordinating die from the Pretty Poppies Bundle (also die cut another poppy image from white cardstock to layer behind the colored image).

Emboss a piece of 4” x 3 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lace embossing folder, distress the edges with a distressing tool.

Cut a piece of the Beach Hut designer paper to 4” x 3”, de-static the panel and stamp the verse sentiment from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount the sentiment panel onto the lower portion of a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Layer the white embossed lace panel onto the card front overlapping the sentiment panel.

Add a strip of ¾” x 4 ¼” piece of black cardstock to cover the cut edges.

Mount the die cut floral image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.
